Last Thursday, the Capital Science Communicators met up at the 3rd and U Cafe in Davis in a “pregame” social — catching up with one another before walking over to the UC Davis campus for a public lecture by National Public Radio science reporter Joe Palca.
The November gathering saw CapSciComm colleagues from university, federal government, and public radio offices. A few drinks later, the group walked over to UC Davis for Joe Palca’s lecture.
The talk was well-attended by the campus and regional community. A few CapSciComm folks did their best to live-tweet Palca’s talk — much of which was captured in this Storify collected by Palca himself:
Palca had spent earlier parts of his day conducting workshops with UC Davis students.
CapSciComm colleague @SPONCH2 attended the earlier workshops, and also created a Storify of the Palca lecture:
CapSciComm networking socials will return in December.
POSTSCRIPT: Apologies for the phantom Joe Palca echo effect in this post… simply a side effect of two Storifys trying to load the same Vine post at the same time…
