CapSciComm (Virtual) Networking Social, Wednesday August 12th with the San Diego Science Writers Association!

We’ve been having a wonderful time at our virtual socials! Let’s continue that community vibe as CapSciComm invites everyone back for another gathering — this time with special guests from our friends from San Diego!!

CapSciComm Networking Social with SANDSWA Colleagues
Wednesday, August 12th, 2020
8:00 to 10:00 p.m. Pacific
Register via Zoom
(Event Code of Conduct)

For this event, we’re teaming up with friends in San Diego!! The San Diego Science Writers Association (SANDSWA) was founded many years ago, but recently was revived with a new leadership board after a pause. Now re-energized, @SANDSWA2 has convened a vibrant community of science writers and communicators across San Diego County, spanning university, journalism, and institutional colleagues and students. We can’t wait to mingle with our colleagues from down south — part of our wider national SciWriCongress network — and trade tips for building community, nurturing professional development, and growing science literacy!

On our end, our CapSciComm Networking Socials are open to all interested professionals and students in our greater Sacramento region. You won’t have to be a dues-paying CapSciComm Member to attend this meetup, but we do encourage all to officially join us as CapSciComm Professional or Student Members! Perks include eligibility to run and vote in our first-ever CapSciComm Executive Board election — nominations due August 6th! Whether you’re curious about whether to join CapSciComm, or if you’re already enjoying your CapSciComm membership, we can’t wait to catch up with you all soon.

Thanks again to the SANDSWA Board for collaborating on this fun event. Stay safe, stay informed, and take care of each other. And as always, #KeepScienceSpicy, Sacramento — and #KeepScienceClassy, San Diego! See you August 12th.

— The CapSciComm Board
