Abstract: Know your chocolate: where and when it came into being and subsequent uses. Chocolate oozes through nearly 5,000 years of human history from earliest Native American Amazon rainforest rituals to 21st century chocolate products. The story of chocolate is more than good flavor, taste, and texture — it reflects human cultural practices in ways too many to count. Attend the presentation and participate in the chocolate tastings!
Each month, Professor Jared Shaw with the UC Davis Department of Chemistry hosts the Davis Science Café, featuring scientists who are studying some of today’s cutting edge topics. This month’s guest is Professor Lou Grivetti from the UC Davis Department of Nutrition who studies chocolate. Invite a friend, and get here early to grab a seat at G. Street Wunderbar. Let’s drink to science!
