If you’ve missed hanging out with your colleagues this summer, we’ve got you covered. Our next professional mixer is jointly hosted with our friends at Journalists in Classrooms (@JClassrooms) and the NFA Sacramento journalists network!
Join us for beverages, food, and good conversation following Journalists in Classrooms’ news literacy workshop for teachers on August 15th. Don’t worry, no homework for this one — just prepare yourself to enjoy the company of a bunch of nerds who want people to know things!
Mingle with journalists active in our local media scene, from freelancers to staff writers for outlets like Sacramento Business Journal. Learn about the exciting mission of Journalists in Classrooms — a volunteer effort that’s bringing professional reporters to K-12 classrooms, teaching kids the process of critical thinking through journalistic investigation, sharing the pivotal societal role of the Fourth Estate, and getting kids excited about the craft and ethics of news writing.
And of course, as with all CapSciComm events, we invite everyone in our professional and student community — whether you’re in journalism, public information, creative, policy, outreach, or scientific research.
RSVP and join us on August 15th in Midtown Sacramento — and help us #KeepScienceSpicy for California’s Capital Region!!
