We had a wonderful time at our first virtual social last week. With that energy still in the air, CapSciComm invites everyone back for another gathering to kick off July — and to kick off our Reorganization 2020 plans anew!
CapSciComm Networking Social
Wednesday, July 1st, 2020
4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Pacific
Register via Zoom (Event Code of Conduct)
To start the conversation, we’ll unveil the new CapSciComm Charter detailing a new organizational plan — including the six elected positions which will form the new CapSciComm Executive Board. This is a document long in the making by the hands of many dedicated volunteers. If you’ve ever expressed curiosity and interest in leading our local professional community, please attend and participate!
Following this introduction, we’ll use Zoom breakout rooms for some fun networking with our colleagues from across our many professional sectors — let’s discuss the role of science and science communication in the tumultuous current events unfolding in our world — and opportunities to build community and support professional development here in California’s Capital Region.
Registration is open to any interested student or professional in our community, especially if you’re not a current CapSciComm member! If you’ve been curious about whether to join CapSciComm as a Professional or Student Member, this is a great chance to become familiar with our local scicomm community. If you’re already a CapSciComm dues-paying member, we can’t wait to catch up with you once again.
Stay safe, stay informed, and take care of each other. And as always, #KeepScienceSpicy, Sacramento! See you July 1st.
