As seen on TV and heard on the radio, our August is Dr. Charles Bamforth, the Anheuser-Busch Endowed Professor of Malting and Brewing Sciences at UC Davis. Bamforth specializes in the science of malting and brewing. His current research program focuses primarily on the “psychophysics” of beer taste, the chemistry and microbiology of beer, foam stability, and other myriad scientific aspects of beermaking!
Here’s a video created by the University of California about Bamforth’s research:
So invite a friend, and get here early to grab a seat for what will surely be an overflowing event at the City Hall Tavern. We’ll literally be sipping on some science—and of course, some beer!
