The Capital Science Communicators and the UC Davis Division of Mathematical and Physical Sciences invites our regional scicomm community this January to explore a historic and treasured research facility — the Crocker Nuclear Laboratory.

Join us for tours of the Crocker Nuclear Laboratory‘s historic cyclotron, and for some fun networking with campus communications and marketing professionals. Beverages and hors d’oeuvres will be served, courtesy of the Division of Mathematical and Physical Sciences.

Entering this new year, the need for skilled science communicators is more urgent than ever. The world needs savvy, passionate ambassadors of science who can communicate concepts accurately and effectively. As scicomm professionals, we must not only translate and deliver information, but we must also strive to meet and reach our many audiences at their contexts and their perspectives — allowing science to enrich and entertain.

Honing our craft starts with honing our community. Capital Science Communicators is proud to carry on our continuing mission, uniting professionals and students in California’s Capital Region, so that our good work makes great impact, here and beyond.

Parking Note: The closest visitor lot to Jungerman Hall is Visitor Parking Lot 47, a large campus parking lot located off of La Rue and behind the Tercero Dormitories. VP 47 accepts both A and C permit types and has several visitor permit dispensers throughout the lot. Parking is $9. Visitor permits are also valid after 5 p.m. in the Academic Surge Parking Lot (P46), on La Rue Road at California Ave.
