We’ve been having a wonderful time at our virtual socials! Let’s continue that community vibe as CapSciComm invites everyone back for another gathering — gathering our colleagues in public affairs and institutional science writing!

CapSciComm Networking Social
Wednesday, July 15th, 2020
8:00 to 10:00 p.m. Pacific
Register via Zoom
(Event Code of Conduct)

As a fun meetup theme, we especially invite colleagues and friends working on the public affairs and institutional science writing side of things! Whether you work as a public information officer, in media relations, or help produce and write great content for your campus, agency, or organization — or are a student who’s interested in these careers — we’d love to see you on July 15th!

Of course, our CapSciComm Networking Socials are open to all interested professionals and students in our greater Sacramento region! You don’t have to be a current CapSciComm Member to attend this meetup. We’ll take a moment to remind everyone of the perks of CapSciComm membership — including eligibility to run in our first-ever CapSciComm Executive Board election!

Following this introduction, we’ll use Zoom breakout rooms for some fun networking with our colleagues from across our many professional sectors — let’s discuss the role of science and science communication in the tumultuous current events unfolding in our world — and opportunities to build community and support professional development here in California’s Capital Region.

If you’ve been curious about whether to join CapSciComm as a Professional or Student Member, this is a great chance to become familiar with our local scicomm community. If you’re already a CapSciComm dues-paying member, we can’t wait to catch up with you once again.

Stay safe, stay informed, and take care of each other. And as always, #KeepScienceSpicy, Sacramento! See you July 15th.

— The CapSciComm Board
