We’ve been having a wonderful time at our virtual socials! Let’s continue that community vibe as CapSciComm invites everyone back for another gathering — this time with special guests from the Capital Region of Tennessee!
CapSciComm Networking Social with Nashville SciComm Colleagues
Wednesday, July 29th, 2020
4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Pacific
Register via Zoom (Event Code of Conduct)
For this event, we’re teaming up with friends in the Central Time Zone — Nashville SciCommers, a nascent professional network! This passionate group of graduate students and professionals are interested in growing a broader scicomm network for their own “Capital Region” around Music City incorporating academic and non-academic science writers from Vanderbilt University, Lipscomb University, Belmont University, and beyond. Let’s have a great time to mingle with new friends from afar, and share our tips for building community, nurturing professional development, and growing science literacy!
On our end, our CapSciComm Networking Socials are open to all interested professionals and students in our greater Sacramento region. You don’t have to be a current CapSciComm Member to attend this meetup. We’ll take a moment to remind everyone of the perks of CapSciComm membership — including eligibility to run in our first-ever CapSciComm Executive Board election! If you’ve been curious about whether to join CapSciComm as a Professional or Student Member, this is a great chance to become familiar with our local scicomm community. If you’re already a CapSciComm dues-paying member, we can’t wait to catch up with you once again.
Thanks again to Lorena Infante Lara (@linfantel) in Nashville for collaborating on this fun event. Stay safe, stay informed, and take care of each other. And as always, #KeepScienceSpicy, Sacramento! See you July 29th.
